From England: West Ham dream of Icardi
According to Football Whispers on Sky Sports UK, West Ham United will attempt a bold move to try to bring Inter striker Mauro Icardi to the Premier League. The Argentine striker, despite his two-goal haul in last week’s 2-1 home win over Torino, is still at odds with sections of the club’s hardcore supporters over the recent revelations in his autobiography.
Hammers boss Slaven Bilic already has former Juventus striker Simone Zaza leading the line this season and was close to bringing in Milan frontman Carlos Bacca last summer before the Colombian opted to remain in Italy.
Inter have already stated that the 23-year-old Argentine will be fined for his indiscretion but stopped short of stripping him of the captain’s armband after hastily arranged crisis talks. Last season, Icardi was linked with a move to Arsenal but has made no secret of the fact that he loves living in Milan. That statement however, seems unlikely to prevent the Hammers continuing their pursuit of one of Serie A’s deadliest marksmen.
