Exclusive: Italian FA opens investigation over Icardi autobiography
The Argentinean striker could be fined or even suspended for his threatening statements against Inter fans. The federal prosecutor Giuseppe Pecoraro, however, could also decide to dismiss the case with no consequences for the 23-year-old striker.
Referring to a Sassuolo-Inter clash lost by the nerazzurri a few seasons ago, which led to a huge protest by Inter fans, Icardi writes in his book that he did not fear the anger of Inter’s ultras at the time, claiming that he would have brought 100 criminals from Argentina who would have killed them all.
Inter Ultras protested once again two weeks ago, asking the club to remove Icardi as Inter’s captain. The Serie A side, however, did not meet the Ultras’ requests, and just decided to fine the Argentinean striker for his statements, forcing him to re-print the book removing the pages in which he threatens fans of Inter.
