Fiorentina reject Mario Gomez’s request to rescind contract
Gomez, 31, scored two goals at EURO 2016 for Germany imposing himself as one of the best centre forwards of the tournament and has refused to move to Besiktas on a permanent deal.
Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino has told media that Fiorentina are not going to give away their players for nothing this summer. Corvino had slapped € 5 million price-tag on the Germany International before EURO 2016 but could ask up to € 10-15 million for the former Bayern Munich man after his convincing displays for his national team last month.
Gomez scored just 14 goals in 47 games with Fiorentina and is not looking for a long-term stay at the club as Nikola Kalinic will be used as first-choice striker by confirmed boss Paulo Sousa. Giuseppe Rossi could also be stay at the club in the 2016-17 campaign.
