EXCLUSIVE: Verona to offer former Italy International Luca Toni management role
Scorer of 157 goals in 342 Serie A games throughout his career, Toni has been playing the last three seasons with Verona and last year he became the best scorer of the Italian league alongside Inter Milan front-man Mauro Icardi.
CM.com’s Daniele Longo has exclusively learned Verona have offered Luca Toni a management role for next season, when Verona will probably play in Serie B as the Blue-And-Yellow sit at the bottom of the Serie A table this term and are edging closer to relegation.
Toni has been offered € 500K per year for the next five years to become Verona’s technical director, the same role that his former Italy teammate Marco Di Vaio is covering at Bologna.
CM.com has also exclusively learned that Andrea Mandorlini could be appointed again as Verona’s new boss next season as the Italian manager and the former Fiorentina and Juventus striker are still on good terms after they had been working together last year and at the beginning of the current campaign, before Mandorlini was replaced by Luigi Delneri.
