EXCLUSIVE Romano: Saponara set for summer Juventus transfer
The product of Milan Academy joined Empoli one year ago, scoring 12 goals and registering nine assists in 32 league games since then.
Everything goes through him at the Castellani and the Tuscans have no intension of selling him in January, though his departure in summer seems inevitable.
According to calciomercato.com’s transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano, the Juventus have met the player’s agents in Milan to sound out on Saponara’s availability to join the Stadium this summer.
Marotta and Paratici are reportedly in good terms with the 24-year-old representatives and they are believed to offer Saponara a four or five year contract. Once the Old Lady will agree personal terms with the player, they’ll hold transfer talks with his club.
Empoli have slapped a € 20 million price-tag on the player, but the Bianconeri might propose swap deal involving some of their youngsters (like Marcel Buchel, by instance, who is already playing at the Castellani) to lower Saponara’s price-tag.
