EXCLUSIVE Romano: Morata wants salary doubled to stay with Juventus
The Bianconeri will have their hands full trying to keep the young star in Italy, with Real Madrid breathing down their necks and ready to pounce this summer if the Old Lady can't find an agreement with Morata.
With the Spanish international revealing to the Spanish media that he's scoring less and being played out of position, it will be hard, but not impossible to keep the Spaniard in Turin.
This will, however, require Juventus to accept the 23-year-old's demands of a €4 million-a-year salary, up from the €2.2 million he's set to be paid until 2019 under the current agreement.
The Casa Blanca is actually confident about the situation, with Florentino Perez and his entourage convinced that the player will accept a return to Madrid. The Merengues president already contacted Morata during the summer, even though the clause in the latter's move to Juventus didn't include the possibility of returning to Spain after just one season with Juventus.
The famous Recompra (buy-back) clause in Morata's contract woould allow Real to bring him back to the capital for €35 million (€38 million with bonuses), almost double the €20 million Juve paid for him two summers ago.
And Real definitely have an ace up their sleeve: the clause already includes Morata's future salary as a Real player: yup, you've guessed it, €4 million a year.
As we said, Juve will have their work cut out...
