EXCLUSIVE Romano: Juventus enter transfer talks with Santos for Gabigol

Juventus are still looking for a striker who can replace Alvaro Morata, scorer of 27 goals in 93 games during his two year-spell with the Old Lady. Big names like Edinson Cavani, Karim Benzema and Arkadiusz Milik have been already linked with a move to Turin, trouble is, their clubs are not open to sell them or have put an excessive price-tag on their stars.

That’s why, according to our transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano, Juventus have changed their plans and are planning to make an opening bid for promising Santos striker Gabigol who is also a target of Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund.

Gabigol is a typical centre forward who is also very good at technical things. Hehas just extended his contract with Santos until 2021 and his club share the player’s economic rights with Gabigol’s father and Doyen Sport.

The current asking price for Gabigol is € 20 million (only cash, no bonus). Juventus would offer € 18 million bonus included. The Brazilian club have already rejected an offer of Borussia Dormtund in the region on € 18 million and would prefer to sell Gabigol after Rio 2016 to see if the player’s price-tag can further increase.

Gabigol’s father has informed Juventus that his son would love to move to the J Stadium and has allowed the Serie A club to enter transfer talks with Santos. If he or Doyen Sport would refuse the money they’re entitled to receive from the sale of Gabigol, Juventus could sign the 19-year-old striker for less than € 20 million.

Negotiations have just begun. Juventus want to sign Gabigol.
