EXCLUSIVE ROMANO: Juve to activate Bentancur option, first alternative to Matuidi revealed

Juventus are still chasing a quality replacement for Paul Pogba who left the J Stadium earlier this month for a world-record fee of € 115 million to join his old club Manchester United.

The Old Lady’s first option for midfield reinforcement is PSG star Blaise Matuidi but the Ligue1 side are only open to sell the 29-year-old for a big offer, probably in the region of € 40 million. According to our transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano, the bianconeri’s first alternative to the Frenchman is Luiz Gustavo who has already reached agreement with the Serie A giants.

Beppe Marotta has made a new contact with the player to confirm that he’s still on Juventus’ shortlist and that the Old Lady is still considering his purchase.

Meantime, Marotta has also informed Boca Juniors that Juventus will buy the Uruguayan starlet, activating their € 9.4 million option by April 2017. Atletico Madrid have made contact for the former AC Milan target, but Juventus have a first option to sign the player and will buy him in less than one year time before deciding whether to keep him at Boca for one more season or take him to Serie A.
