EXCLUSIVE: Inter close in on move for Man Utd target Erkin

“Last year we did a revolution. This year we’ll complete the team”, that’s what Inter director of sport Piero Ausilio told media a few days ago while talking about the club’s summer transfer strategies.

Ausilio does not want to be conditioned too much from Inter’s qualification to the Champions League. He knows that without the money coming from the participation to Europe’s elite tournament, he needs to be fast in closing deals, like has did with Ever Banega.

AS previously reported, the Benamata have targeted another free agent: Fenerbache’s left-back Caner Erkin who's also chased by Manchester United.

According to CM.com’s transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano, representatives from Inter will meet the player’s entourage next week to offer him a contract worth € 1.8 million a year, running until 2019. Erkin has already asked a salary in the region of € 2.5 million a year, but next week’s meeting will be useful for both parties to find a compromise.

As Roberto Mancini exclusively revealed CM.com earlier this week, he considers Erkin a very good player and would not mind to have in the squad next season.

The possible arrival of Erkin will push three left backs far from the San Siro. Romano reports Inter are planning to to sell Davide Santon, Danilo D’Ambrosio and Dodo next summer.

The first one has offers from England as both Watford and West Ham have set sights on him.
D’Ambrosio’s price-tag is believed to be in the region of € 4-5 million and Inter are looking for suitors who could buy the former Torino man next summer.

As far as Dodo is concerned, the Brazilian is playing on a regular basis at Sampdoria and after his six-month loan deal at the Marassi will be over, the Nerazzurri will try to find him a new club.

Galatasaray loanee Alex Telles could come back to his former club too as Inter have yet to make an offer to make the Brazilian’s left-back move permanent.
