EXCLUSIVE: Banega can join Juventus in January
No dispute that the former Valencia man would definitely strengthen Massimiliano Allegri’s midfield after that the likes of Hernanes and Mario Lemina have failed to live up to expectations following their Stadium arrival on the summer deadline day.
Banega could be the perfect back-up of the Bianconeri mainstay Claudio Marchisio even if the Argentinean could also play as the team’s playmaker with the Italy International featuring inside right.
The 27-year-old is on a € 2.5 million deal at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan, but Juve have already met the player’s agent Marcelo Simonian offering a two-year contract with option for a one year extension worth more than € 3 million.
Giuseppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici eager to add the Argentina International to the list of players who joined the Old Lady as a free agent over the last few seasons: Andrea Pirlo, Paul Pogba, Kingsley Coman and Sami Khedira.
Banega could join the Stadium in June, but if Seville will fail to qualify for a Europe League knock-out stage, their financial situation could force the Spanish side to get rid of some of the biggest money makers at the club.
Juve and Seville are in good terms following Fernando Llorente’s free transfer during last summer and Benaga could join the Stadium almost for free in January.
Trouble is, the Old Lady’s offer is not the wealthiest as the product of the Alianza Sport de Rosario Academy is tempted by Everton's bid, while a return to his native land is a realistic option too as a Boca Juniors move is also in the cards.
