According to the Italian paper Tuttosport, Juventus are eager to sign a central midfielder in the next transfer window, as the arrivals of Hernanes and Mario Lemina have failed to fill the gaps left by Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal.

Although former Real Madrid man Sami Khedira is confirming his reputation as one of the best European midfielders and Paul Pogba is slowly working on his leadership at the club, their successor can't hold a candle to the previous Juventus’ midfielders, something most of supporters feared at the beginning of the season.

This would explain why the Old Lady would want sign Bologna’s Amadou Diawara. According to the player’s agent, the Rossoblu have already rejected a € 13 million bid from Shalke 04.

Many other European sides are chasing the holding midfielder, Juventus included.

Another player linked with a move to the Stadium is Valencia’s playmaker Ever Banega. The Argentinian international’s contract with his current club is set to expire next June, and the Bianconeri’s CEO Giuseppe Marotta would like to add his name to the impressive list players who have joined Juventus as a free agent in last few seasons: Andrea Pirlo, Paul Pogba, Kingsley Coman, Neto and Sami Khedira.

    Talk about a transfer guru!
