EXCLUSIVE Balice: Juve close to Nasri summer loan, balked at €8m City salary

With Juventus welcoming Manchester City tomorrow evening for another exciting bout of Champions League football, fans of the Old Lady won’t just be hoping for another Alvaro Morata miracle, or for Mario Mandzukic to score a rare goal.

They’ll be hoping their CEO and free transfer guru Giuseppe Marotta will be able to pull off another Tevez (whom Juventus managed to nab from City at a… Hernanes price) and stop the Citizens from snagging Paul Pogba, or at least obtain a good price for him.

With the Juventini resisting all sorts of offers from the French talisman, now reported by some to be worth €100 million, the news here is that the two clubs (who are on good terms) negotiated about other players during the summer.

Number one was David Silva, whom the Bianconeri wanted to complete their midfield. City immediately refused, but having bought Kevin de Bruyne, they were more open to letting Samir Nasri go… though they asked Juventus to pay his €8m salary in a loan deal that would have allowed the Old Lady to buy him for good the following summer.

Juventus had done something similar with Juan Cuadrado, though, unlike Chelsea, their Champions League opponents weren’t as keen to let him go.

With Nasri now out for three months… it looks like the talks will be postponed to next summer.
