Badelj’s Fiorentina contract runs until 2018 and the player is not willing to extend his stay at the Artemio Franchi. The player’s agent has already informer Fiorentina that Badelj will leave the club for free in that date as he’s not open to sign a new contract with the club.

Badelj’s representative is not on good terms with Fiorentina as the Serie A giants have failed to give him his commission after his client’s transfer to Fiorentina in 2014.

Montella is a long time admirers of Badelj, so much so the aeroplanino bought the player to the Franchi from Hamburger SV.

The 27-year-old midfielder could be available for € 12-15 million in January and could demand a salary of € 2 million a year. AC Milan plan to enter transfer talks with Fiorentina as well, hoping to find economic agreement over the player’s transfer.

In case Fiorentina refuse to sell Badelj in January, Ajax starlet Riechedly Bazoer and Sebastian Rudy are also being monitored by the Serie A giants.
