EURO 2016: Why Petr Cech can’t take off his helmet

Doctors have not allowed Petr Cech to take off his helmet during games at EURO 2016. The Arsenal goalkeeper suffered a fracture skull 10 years ago after a hard challenge by Reading’s Stephen Hunt. Cech underwent surgery and has been forced to play with his protective helmet since then.

Doctors have informed Cech that playing without that kind of protection could lead to an injury relapse as the helmet is not only protecting him from other challenges but it also prevent the fracture from reopening.
