Defender confirms Man Utd summer transfer talks
Fabinho is said to be a long time target of the Red Devils boss José Mourinho so much so the Special One is being linked with making an offer for the Brazilian defender in the January window as well.
Manchester United urge to sign reinforcements at the back, but a centre defender and a left-back are said to be José Mourinho’s priorities for the January window.
Talking to our colleagues of goal.com, however, Fabinho confirmed Manchester United summer talks: “They were interested in signing me, there was something but in the end I received no formal offers. I am happy at Monaco now, we had a good start to the season and I am only concentrated in doing well with this club now.”
Fabinho has also played for Real Madrid B squad (Castilla) and has told goal.com why he decided to leave the Bernabeu to join Monaco in 2013.
“It was my first experience as a professional footballer. The beginning was very hard because I was playing in a new league and I didn’t know the language. When I learnt Spanish it went slightly better. I could have stayed with Real Madrid squad B, but I decided to leave and join Monaco instead.”
