Allegri: 'Thiago Silva is the best central midfielder in the world'
AC Milan boss, is focussed on the next away match against Brescia: "Tomorrow Milan will play with the best attacking line I can field at the moment. Pato and Robinho played in the derby, Cassano and Robinho against Sampdoria and they combined for two goals. I think that Cassano, Robinho and Boateng complement each other quite well and our offence will be efficient tomorrow.
We have no worries about this. We give due respect to Brescia, who are in good form physically and they have a big game ahead in view of their battle against relegation. We can’t afford to take tomorrow’s game lightly against an opponent who in attack can count on players like Caracciolo and Eder and in midfield have players who, aside from running a lot, are also good technically.
If we go into the game with the right mentality our chances are good, it depends only on us. In my opinion, the tomorrow's game will be the most important of the season. With a win we would make a huge leap towards the title. Against Palermo we did well, especially in the early stages of the game, then unfortunately we slowed down, especially our ball circulation. Tomorrow, we’ll need to play with great intensity for 95 minutes, because Brescia will do the same, looking to cause us problems"..
ON INDIVIDUALS:
“I fielded Boateng in a role where, in my opinion, he could do well. Considering his characteristics he could also adapt to playing in a three-man midfield. Pirlo had a good game on Wednesday and I’m happy for him because he didn’t play for four months and returning in a game as difficult as we had against Palermo is not easy. Nonetheless, he did well and I’m pleased, also because I didn’t expect him to last for 90 minutes after being out for four months.Seedorf is fit and he only played 50-60 minutes on Wednesday. Anyway, at this stage of the season, motivation overcomes fatigue. Every player I’ll call up is fit enough to do well at Brescia. Abate is having a great season: he’s young but he has matured and learned a lot and he still has big margins for further improvement. Having said that, Prandelli is doing an excellent job as Italy boss and he doesn’t need anyone’s advice on who to call up. Nesta rejoined the group yesterday but I think he won’t be available for selection. In any case, I hope to have him at my disposal for next week.
Abbiati should be OK for tomorrow. In my view, Emanuelson has the characteristics to do well in a three-man midfield in Italy. It’s true that I could have put him the line-up more often, but I have to do what I consider the best solution for the team and often I thought he would be more useful coming off the bench. I don’t think we should compare him to Baresi, but definitely, Thiago Silva is the best central midfielder in the world at the moment. He has improved a lot, especially defensively. He’s always ready to give his teammates a hand and his attitude makes the other defenders feel protected”.
