CM Exclusive: Serie A dream for Nelson

    • Serafino Ingardia

Real Betis right-back Nelson just recently returned to action following a long-term injury and is now hoping to once again attractthe interest from Serie A clubs.

The Portuguese international was followed by Napoli, Lazio and Juventus but his injury, which kept him sidelined for over six month, meant that the negotiations didn’t go ahead.

“Serie A is still a dream for me and I believe that I can still make it,” Nelson told CM.com. “When I will be fit again perhaps the clubs will come back for me. The day I got injured there were scouts from big clubs who had come to Pamplona to talk to me. Then the injury prevented my dream from coming true.”

Nelson, who spent six months on loan at Osasuna, joined Betis from Benfica in 2008 for 6M Euros. The player has two international caps to his name.

“I have just started my program and I don’t want to push it. The last six months have been really tough on me and now I just want to focus on my full recovery and on my team,” concluded the player.
