Chinese takeover of Lyon takes Chelsea, Juventus target Tolisso off the market

It looks like Chinese investors won’t just be impacting Serie A directly, but also affecting Calcio’s plans for the January window.

In this case, investment from the Asian giant could scupper Juventus’ attempt at signing Corentin Tolisso, who has also attracted interest from Chelsea, as well as confessed his desire to play for Arsenal.

As confirmed by Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas, IDG capital group have agreed to buy 20% of Olympique Lyonnais, and are set to pump 100 million in the Ligue 1 giants’ coffers.

With the owner tweeting that the shareholders will be called to ratify the sale when he returns from China, Aulas has effectively ensured that his club, which built a new stadium recently, won’t even need to sell its star players, something that has been a defining characteristic of Les Gones in the last 20 years.

This leaves Juventus trying to seal two deals, with Axel Witsel and Franck Kessie’ major January targets.
