Romano Exclusive: Juventus close to nabbing Witsel in January
Juventus are close to making another attempt at signing Zenit Saint Petersburg star Axel Witsel.
The Belgian international will, according to transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano, inform the Russian Premier League club of his intention to move, thus forcing their hand.
Juventus recently offered €6 million, knowing that the 27-year-old’s deal expires in summer, where he will be available on a Bosman.

Witsel has already expressed his wish to move to Turin, even making it sound inevitable in a candid interview a few weeks ago, in which he said that he would join Juventus “either in January or in June”.
Romano’s sources inform him that the feedback is good so far, and that Zenit - who recently tried to offer Witsel a new deal - will probably accept.
