Chelsea: Top midfield target plays down exit rumours

Radja Nainggolan has denied to be looking for an escape from AS Roma despite reports that he’d had a big argument with Spalletti’s assistant coach Marco Domenichini after last week-end’s defeat to Atalanta. Nainggolan, a long time Chelsea target, revealed today to be happy with his time at the club.

“I’m happy to be here, I’m in sync with the club”, the Belgium International told media on the eve of tomorrow’s game with Viktoria Plzen.

“Reports of an argument with the assistant coach are totally made up. Sometimes journalists write too quickly, what happened on Sunday involves the whole dressing room.”

“I want to stay at the club, otherwise I’d have taken another decision in the past. I’m feeling good and I am happy to be here. I am relaxed and everybody at the club is relaxed too.”

“We need, however, to be more consistent. We have to win games consistently, like we’d been doing after the Torino defeat. We are focused on Europa League now, then there will be a league game again.”

On his exclusion from Belgium national team, Nainggolan stated: “I was left disappointed by Martinez’s decision, but it was his choice. The national team is an objective for me, I want to be part of the team the next time, it’s just up to me.”
