    Cagliari president: 'Bruno Alves wants to join us'

    Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini has talked about the possibility to sign Fenerbahçe defender Bruno Alves: “We know that the player is interested in coming to Cagliari. There is a lot of competition; many important clubs want him, it won’t be easy”.
     
    “We can’t pay him more than €1 million per season, but we can convince him by offering him a longer deal. We already had two meetings, we hope to have a third one: we don’t have too many chances, but we keep on hope”, he added. “He has two possibilities, either he will rejoin his former club Porto, or he will come with us. Fenerbahçe have offered him a new contract, but his family doesn’t want to stay in Istanbul.”
