In an interview to the Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport, Italy's goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, spoke about the latest political controversies (an MP asked footballers for financial sacrifices):
Cannavaro said: Italy is a ridiculous country.
It's a bit exaggerated, but we are a country full of contradictions and football is not immune from it even though footballers are always in the spotlight and concretely contribute with their money and skill. I don't know if other people with other responsibilities do the same".

"He's absolutely the same. He strongly believes and his trust is contagious. We want another fantastic month. We are sure about it".
