Barcelona find their replacement for Aleix Vidal
Aleix Vidal has had an unhappy time at Barcelona since making the switch from Sevilla in 2015. Signed during that summer, he was unable to play until January this year due to the transfer embargo imposed on the Catalan giants and since then, he has struggled to try and break into Luis Enrique’s first-team.
Now a January departure looks inevitable as the 27-year-old looks to rebuild his career. The blaugrana have wasted no time in seeking out his potential replacement however, and according to Mundo Deportivo, that player is 26-year-old Michel Machedo of fellow La Liga side Las Palmas.
The Brazilian is adept at playing both as a defender and as an attacking wing-back; something Barcelona are always looking for as the spirit of Dani Alves lives on at the Camp Nou. Machedo arrived in Spain in 2008 when he joined Almeria from Brazilian giants Flamengo. He returned to his homeland in 2012, going on-loan to Atletico Mineiro before arriving on the Canary Islands to join Las Palmas last summer.
