Inter and Manchester United in tussle to sign highly-rated Brazilian defender
Inter are serious about Guilherme Arana. The 19-year-old Brazilian left-back, who is currently plying his trade in his homeland with Corinthians, is being kept under observation by nerazzurri Sporting Director Piero Ausilio.
Calciomercato.com has learned that Inter executives have already met the player’s entourage and whilst personal terms look to have been agreed, there is still much negotiating to do with his club to try to complete the deal.
Arana has a Brazilian passport which is difficult for the nerazzurri as they currently have no room in the squad for a non EU player; the two respective slots are taken by Gabigol and Erkin. Corinthians want a January sale so Inter will now look at the possibility of purchasing him in the new year but not actually bringing him to Italy until the summer.
The youngster, like many players in Brazil, is part owned by the club (40%) and with investment fund Elenko Brazilian Sports (60%). There is also interest from Manchester United with reports that Jose Mourinho has already held talks with Arana’s agent. Inter are in a hurry to close the deal, but the complications are quite clear.
