Antonio Cassano set for shock Bari return?

Antonio Cassano could return to Bari 15 years after leaving his childhood club. The Galletti’s president Giancaspro has already made contact with the player to persuade him to return home after 15 years spent around Europe playing for AS Roma, Real Madrid, Milan, Inter, Parma and Sampdoria.

The operation is not going to be an easy one, especially considering the player’s wages at Sampdoria, but the Serie B club are working alongside some sponsors to offer the 34-year-old a two-year deal.

Cassano has been left out of Sampdoria’s first team squad and is training with the blucerchiati’s B squad. Fantantonio has one year left on his € 700.000 contract at the Marassi.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Sassuolo are not interested in signing Casssano, whilst Entella, the only club to have made a concrete offer for the former AS Roma star, is not a destination of interest for the former Italy International.

Bari will try to wrap up Cassano’s deal in the remaining days of the summer transfer window. Bari fans hope to see their idol back to the club to see him score some beauties like his first ever Serie A goal scored against Inter in December 1999.
