Cassano set for Sampdoria exit, Sassuolo think of him

The future of Antonio Cassano at Sampdoria remains up in the air. The Italian striker is not going to join his teammates for the friendly tournament in Spain and a host of papers claim that this decision has something to do with the player’s future at the club.

Cassano had previously accepted to play a bit-part under new boss Marco Giampaolo next season.

According to Tuttosport, Sassuolo have made contact with the player’s agent Beppe Bozzo who will meet Sampdoria in mid August to talk about the player’s future.

Sassuolo are looking to strengthen their attacking department and the name of Cassano is not the only one on the neroverdi shortlist. Alessandro Matri, Mauricio Pinilla and Khouma Babacar are on the club’s radars as Falcinelli and Trotta are set to leave the Mapei Stadium on loan, they have attracted the interest of Palermo and Pescara respectively.
