Despite being still nine points far from Serie A leaders Fiorentina, Massiliano Allegri showed a relaxed attitude when speaking to Italy’s TV channel Sky Sport following a scoreless draw against Inter .

“Winning today would have been vital for our title ambitions, but there are some good news too. First of all there is still the same gap between us and Inter and for the first time in this season we have not concede any goal.”

Indeed, Juventus’ main struggle both tonight and in this season is scoring goals rather than defending.

“We must have hunger up in front. Strikers need to have the same determination than Barzagli showed when he was defending. We need to improve our scoring average because we can't have title ambitions scoring nine goals in nine matches.”

“We’ll definitely be among the Serie A  contenders. Now I can’t say if whether we’ll win the league or not. I hope and I believe that within the end of December we’ll have halve the gap with the table leaders.

In the first handful of matches Allegri showed a certain attitude to rotate his strikers and he has been asked if his decisions are influencing Juventus’ frontmen lack of goals.

“I think [Alvaro] Morata can partner with everyone in the attack. [Paulo] Dybala used to play as a sole striker but I think he’ll have to adapt acting as a supporting striker. He has the right skills to do it. [Mario] Manduzkic is the classic centre forward while [Simone] Zaza has to involve more his team-mates in attacking actions.”

Talking about single players Allegri was also asked about Paul Pogba’s recent shape. The Frenchman delivered under his standards in the first half, while he improved in the second part of the game.

Paul is working to become a box-to-box player.  Sometimes he doesn’t have the right tempo in the middle of the pitch. I want him to understand that he must have quantity in order to have quality.  By the way, I think that his second half was good tonight. He is only 22 and we need to have patience and wait for him.”
