Agent puts Chelsea target Manolas' Roma future in doubt

AS Roma might be forced to rebuild their defence this summer with Antonio Rudiger who will return to the pitch in November after suffering a serious knee injury, whilst the agent of Kostas Manolas has revealed that his client is not going to extend his contract with AS Roma.

“I can confirm there is no agreement over the player’s contract extension. I don’t think it is possible to have agreement in the next few weeks”, Iannis Evangelopulos told Laroma24.

Walter Sabatini has offered a salary of € 2 million a year an offer that has not been taken seriously by the Greek International who is a target of Chelsea and Arsenal.

Manolas’ old club Olympiacos have an option to cash in the 50% of the player’s sale until this summer, so AS Roma would try to keep Manolas for one more season at least.

The contract of the 25-year-old centre back runs until 2019. AS Roma have almost completed the signing of Juan Jesus, whilst Walter Sabatini is due to meet Nacho’s agent today offering a seasonal loan move to the Olimpico.
