Agent: EPL flop Gaston Ramirez wants Serie A return
Gaston Ramirez is ready to make a return to Serie A, according to his agent, Pablo Betancourt.
"We've been told that we can begin to look for a new team," Betancourt told Lazionews.eu.
"We're working to ensure that a move can be made in January."
Who is after Ramirez? Anyone with Serie A pedigree, that's for sure. Before he left Bologna for Saint Mary's in 2012, the young Uruguayan playmaker was one of the hottest commodities in Serie A, scoring 12 times in two seasons at the top with the Felsinei.
He has since shown little of the form that justified the Saints' £12 million investment, though a return to the country where he has given his best could be just what the doctor ordered, something his agent confirms.
"We've received 2-3 offers, including some from Italy. Gaston's favourite destination would be Italy".
Cue sound of Serie A fans licking their proverbial chops.
