AC Milan, M’Baye Niang close to returning from injury

AC Milan striker M’Baye Niang is edging closer to come back from an injury which has been sidelining him for almost two months now.

The former Genoa front-man underwent medical control in Amsterdam today and given the tests’ positive results he is expected to return to running in 2-3 weeks time.

AC Milan released an official statement on their website following Niang’s medical.

“Today, and in line with the times set after his injury, M'Baye Niang underwent a check-up in Amsterdam with professor Niek Van Dijk. The results were satisfactory and a rehabilitation programme for a return to action was arranged. The recovery time will depend on the clinical response to the progressive increase in workload.

Niang should be eligible to play the Coppa Italia final against Juventus scheduled on the 21st of May. The Stadio Olimpico clash could be Niang’s last game with AC Milan as both Borussia Dortmund and Stoke City have set sights on the talented 21-year-old striker.
