Will Milan be FORCED to sell Niang in summer... or will they WANT to?
Even worse, the club's financial woes may force it to sell star winger M'Baye Niang. Close to joining Leicester City in the summer before the young Frenchman refused to budge, it looks like the Rossoneri are still completely devoid of a long-term plan, simply looking to balance the books and make a profit when they can.
No player is completely safe, especially not if the right offer comes in.
The Frenchman's contribution to the team has been significant: his five goals (and as many assists) were arguably one of the main driving forces behind the Diavolo's mid-season comeback, when they lost only one Serie A game in fourteen to climb back up the table and threaten to make a late surge for third place.
Yet M'Baye's car accident in late February has resurrected some of the club's fears about its players' maturity: though he wasn't driving at the time, Niang has had enough behind the wheel (driving without a licence, lying to the police, and crashing said cars of course) to potentially justify a departure.
His agent, Moussa Ndiaye, has denied evbverything "A number of clubs are interested," he told calcionews24.com. "but now is not the time to talk about this. The current season isn't over yet, and Niang is focussed on scoring goals for Milan".
Let's hope that's all he does...
