Zanetti: 'Inter should't give up on Kondogbia, we shouldn't compare ourselves to Juve'

Javier Zanetti has come out in defence of under-siege midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, who was taken off 27 minutes into Inter’s 1-1 home draw with Bologna.

“Kondogbia should not be frozen out,” El Pupi told Radio Anch’io, “he just didn’t play that game the way Frank [De Boer] wanted.”

“The Coach realised that he needed to make changes because the team needed other characteristics and he had no doubts about doing it”.

Beyond that, Zanetti said that Inter shouldn’t compare themselves to Juventus, who won again this weekend, this time 1-0 away to Palermo.

“Juve are not a reference point for us, we are a different club and we are run in a different way.

“We will try to bring success with our own mentality.

“Chinese is not easy, but we manage to understand each other! Suning are a very strong and serious group, there is a lot of desire to plan for the present and future.

    Zanetti finally endorsed De Boer.

“De Boer is doing a great job. The early struggles were predictable, he still needs to get to get to know Italian football, but he is showing great professionalism.

“Inter are growing game by game, we hope it takes us high up in the table.”
