Zamparini contradicts himself within 24 hours over Vazquez - Milan talks

Oh, Maurizio Zamparini. The mercurial Palermo president has done it again, denying that he would meet with Milan president Silvio Berlusconi today over the possible sale of playmaker Franco Vazquez on Saturday. Only problem is... that it was Zamparini himself who had announced it, and yesterday, too!

The Rosanero owner issued this denial during an interview with Alfredo Pedulla, and went to on to define the story as "complete lies".
He'd told Radio 2 yesterday that he "would meet with Berlusconi on Saturday", and cheekily hinted that Franco Vazquez would be the topic of conversation.

"Let me explain," he told Pedulla "I won't deny that Milan are interested in Vazquez, but there will be plenty of time to talk about an eventual move to Milan, Palermo now need to concentrate on staying up, and of reaching this target as soon as possible".

Zamparini also spoke of his team's trip to Roma this weekend: "I'm worried about Ashraf Lazaar's absence".
