Toure earns reprieve by bagging double against Crystal Palace: #YayaIsBack

It has taken Yaya Toure 90 minutes to make up for 90 chaotic days.

A bit longer in fact: having not played an official game since August 24th, the Ivorian’s troubles at Manchester City could well be over, netting a brace today as Pep Guardiola’s side beat Crystal Palace 2-1, drawing level with leaders Liverpool.

Things didn’t look so rosy a few weeks ago, when Toure’s agent publicly called out the Citizens’ new Coach, earning his client a reprimand and a suspension from the team.

It’s only with Toure apologizing - and asking Dimitri Seluk to let off - that he was allowed back in the team. And it looks like Guardiola picked the right man, Toure’s brace proof that he is still willing to earn his place on the team, and not just sit on his remunerative contract.

Toure, 33, had a record season back in 2013/2014 when he netted 20 goals and added nine assists in Premier League play. Following an up-and-down campaign in 2015/2016, Toure’s role has come under question, with Inter Milan one of many clubs lining up to recruit him.

Non solo obiettivi italiani per l'attacco del Valencia: secondo El Desmarqueinfatti Prandelli ha messo nel mirino Borja Baston, centravanti ex Atletico Madrid che sta faticando allo Swansea.
