Who could Juventus draw in the Champions League Round of 16?
We didn't think we'd be writing this. We assumed that two wins over Manchester City and one against Sevilla had been enough to see Juventus through to the Round of 16 without drawing a truly elite opponent.
Instead, Massimiliano Allegri continues his streak of Group Stage second-places, having never come first at this juncture of Europe's elite competition. In all fairness to him, the former Milan manager has never failed to qualify to the Round of 16, either.
Anyway, Juventus fans will now be needing to order a fresh batch of heart medicine for Monday 14th, when the Champions League draw takes place at midday local time. The Round of 16 itself will take place on the 16-17th and the 23-24rd of February, with the away games schedule for the 8-9th and 15-16th of March.
Remember, the winners of each group get to play at home first, and sides from the same country may not be drawn together.
Juventus could therefore end up with Barcelona, Bayern Monaco or Real Madrid if they're unlucky.A better draw would pit them against Atletico Madrid, Wolfsburg and Chelsea.
An even better one would result in one of Zenit Saint Petersburg, Porto or Dinamo Kiev.
