EXCLUSIVE Romano: What Manc trip means for Pogba speculation

    • Fabrizio Romano, translated by Edo Dalmonte (@edodalmonte)
With the English tabloids going crazy over Paul Pogba’s claims that he “loves Manchester”, something he said straight after leaving a famous Chinese restaurant (Wing’s) in Manchester.

Manchester City already offered Juventus €80 million for the French international last summer, as well as the likes of Edin Dzeko or Stefan Jovetic as part of the deal.

Paul Pogba’s preference is for historic clubs, which explains why he asked the nouveau riche Citizens for €12 million, and why he is so happy in Turin.

Either way, the Frenchman is going nowhere in January, something Juventus had to remind Chelsea and Barcelona (the clubs who are most interested in him) of, as well as PSG and City.

Moreover, France 2016 is Pogba’s chance to shine on the world stage, something Juventus (who don’t necessarily want to sell him, by the way) will surely be counting on to take his price to the €100 million mark, which is incidentally what they established as a necessary condition to sit down with Manchester City and do business.

Barcelona and who knows, Manchester United have been warned. They’ll have to pony up to get the Frenchman. Will Barcelona go for it, or change their minds and opt for Miralem Pjanic?
