West Ham, concrete interest in Milan target Fabregas

According to reports in the Express this morning, Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has become a January target for bitter rivals West Ham United. The journal suggests that the Stamford Bridge boss Antonio Conte, wants to free-up space in his squad and sees the 30-year-old Spaniard’s departure as the best option.

The Blues would prefer the player to go to a team outside of the Premier League and recent reports suggested that Milan were strong favourites to claim his signature. This possible move now looks unlikely and although off-loading him to a rival club is not ideal, the fact that the Spanish international could remain in London, would be a huge bonus in deciding his immediate future.

Fabregas has made just four Premier League appearances this season and only one of these has been from the start of the game. With a contract not due to expire until 2019, it’s believed the player still believes he has a future with Conte, that looks increasingly unlikely however, as we head towards the January window.
