Watch out Milan! Target Barreca signs extension with Torino, Juventus interested too
It appears that Antonio Barreca will cost his suitors more than they anticipated.
Though the full details need to emerge, the Milan target signed a new deal with Torino yesterday. According to reports, this occurred in the locker room, following a 5-1 humbling of Cagliari!
Considered one of Calcio’s most fascinating prospects at full-back, Barreca has attracted interest from Juventus and Roma, too.
The 21-year-old got his big break this season when veteran Cristian Molinaro suffered an awful injury, promoting him to the first team, where he now has nine appearances.
More importantly, Barreca has played very well in cancelling out the likes of Federico Bernardeschi and Mohamed Salah.
We’d previously written that the Granata were planning to offer him a new deal in order to keep the likes of Milan away from him. His new deal will now run until 2021.
Remember when Silvio Berlusconi drew up his ideal young, Italian Milan XI when having dinner with Coach Vincenzo Montella? Barreca may well have been on that list, and if he wasn’t… he certainly is now.
