WATCH! Nigel de Jong breaks opponent's leg with horrific tackle
Former AC Milan central midfielder Nigel de Jong broke Darlington Nagbe’s leg with a horrific tackle during the MLS game between LA Galaxy v. Portland Timbers, forcing his opponent to leave the pitch on a wheelchair.
How many games do you guys think @mls is going to suspend #DeJong for this? #lagalaxy #mls #badrefs #yellowcard? pic.twitter.com/0kZ6drUWGs

The Holland International is well known for his aggressive and highly competitive style of play, so much so de Jong had already made a couple of very serious tackles. The most ‘popular’ is probably the chest high tackle on Xabi Alonso during the 2010 World Cup final.
The 31-year-old moved to LA Galaxy from AC Milan this past January and his reckless tackle has created a controversy between the two clubs. Are you ready for the football battles of the weekend?#DeJonghttps://t.co/IsBW4yO1XI

Hey @LAGalaxy, last year this acct justified a RC on Ridgewell w/a pic of a bruise. Any pithy commentary on De Jong? Are you even surprised?

@LAGalaxy Sorry we don't find signing dirty players funny. But have at it.
