Wanda Icardi: 'Inter promised Mauro a raise last year'
“The situation is that we had an gentlemen's agreement that Mauro's contract would be improved when the club came into some money," she told RTL 102.5, “I know what Mauro thinks, I know he wants to stay”.
“Mauro loves Inter, he doesn't care about money, only about the shirt and staying, that's why we gave away 50% of his image rights to Inter, I came up with that solution to ensure that he stayed”.
Mrs. Icardi then went on to state that she wanted to stay in Milan, too.
“I'd suffer the most from this change, as I'd have to move four kids, not to mention change cities, schools... I'm the first who wants to remain, because we're all Inter fans, we're a family that is very happy in Milan".
