    Vierchowod: Juve need world-class defenders

Juventus are flying high but former Bianconeri player Pietro Vierchowod believes they are still missing something. Talking exclusively to CM.com feels Juve would be a great team if they had one or two world class defenders.

“If this team only had one or two world class defenders that it would really be a great one,” argued Vierchowod. “They don’t concede many goals but they still have some problems. They are missing a couple of ‘great Juve’ defenders, with great personality also considering that next season they will need that for Champions League.

“In Italy there isn’t much at the moment. I blame coaches because they are no longer teaching kids to defend one on one. The reason is that too many midfielders and forwards have now become youth team coaches,” explained the former Sampdoria man.

Juventus have recently been linked to Hummels and Dedé. “I am not naming players. I am sure the Juventus staff is working hard on this. But you need to watch players in daily trainings as well as matches to understand the overall picture,” concluded Vierchowod.
