Ventura to meet with Tavecchio soon, Italy coach by Tuesday?

Fresh off his Bari wedding, Giampiero Ventura's honeymoon looks set to be cut short by a work meeting. But not just any meeting: if today's Gazzetta has got it right, he's set to meet FIGC president Carlo Tavecchio either today (or tomorrow morning at the latest) to confirm his appointment as Italy Coach.

Ventura is set to meet with Tavecchio and predecessor Marcello Lippi to talk about what they want to do in the future,

Tavecchio is set to make the decision official either on Tuesday, or on Wednesday. The announcement would come before the evening, when Italy's Euro 2016 squad is set to leave for Montpellier.

Bizarrely, Ventura is the same age as Marcello Lippi (69), who will become the supervisor to Italy's entire international setup, and is set to work especially to improve how the Azzurri select and develop their youth.
