Valencia eyeing up Juventus target
According to reports on fichajes.net, new Valencia coach Cesare Prandelli is set to rival Juventus, Manchester United and Manchester City for Benfica defender Alex Grimaldo.
The 21-year-old, who was nurtured in the Barcelona youth system, has made an impressive start to his career with the Lisbon giants after making his first-team debut at the start of the new campaign and has some of Europe’s heavyweight clubs monitoring his progress with great interest. Prandelli was in the stands at the Estadio Mestalla on Sunday to see his new team go down 0-2 to Atletico Madrid before officially taking charge of first-team matters this week.
The former Italian national team boss will use the international break to assess his new squad and to indicate to club executives where he believes they will need to strengthen in January. After a poor start to the new La Liga season, the club from Spain’s third city will be hoping an early change at the helm brings better fortune as they attempt to climb away from the relegation zone.
