TRANSFER NEWS: Ronaldo to PSG paves the way for Cavani to Juve
Currently, the ‘Matador’ earns almost double what Juve’s highest paid player Paul Pogba earns (4.5 million euros for the Bianconeri ace) and the Italian sports daily 'Corriere dello Sport' reports that the Uruguayan will have to lower his wage demands somewhat, although the Turin giants will offer him several bonuses. Juventus are quietly confident they can convince Cavani seeing as his current club are attempting to land a major transfer coup of their own: Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese attacker is seen as the ideal man to give PSG the extra edge in their bid to capture the Champions League and his arrival would reduce the need for Cavani, edging him closer to a move to Juve.
But the 32-time Italian champions face competition, at least according to Atletico Madrid’s Diego Godin, an international team-mate to Cavani. The defender said the following: “He would be happy to come to Atletico Madrid. He likes the club and its style of play, because it’s similar to our style with the national team.”
