Top five managers available in the market
5. RUDI GARCIA
Sacked by AS Roma less than one year ago, the Frenchman is being linked with pretty much every job available since then. Valencia is the last club heavily linked with appointing the former Lille boss and even West Ham are considering the former AS Roma, should they take a huge decision on Bilic’s future. Ay the Olimpico he racked up a good average of 1.84 points per game in 118 games.
4. LOUIS VAN GAAL
His two-year spell at Manchester United was a complete fiasco, but the Dutchman still has the 60% of games won in his career. He has 20 major trophies around Europe, included one Champions League, one FA Cup and four Dutch leagues.
3. MARCELO BIELSA
One of the most talked names of the summer, when he had signed a two-year-deal with Lazio before changing his mind to apply for the Argentina job, failing to get that one too. El Loco, 61, has not as much point-per-game as his counterparts in this list (47.1%), but has probably the most exciting and attracting style among them. Bielsa, however, could be a better manager to pick at the beginning of the season, rather than in the middle of a campaign, when he’d have to coach players he hasn’t chosen.
2. GUUS HIDDINK
The good old Guus, might not be the most spectacular manager out there, but when you appoint him, you know he’ll bring results. Thirteen trophies in his career 55.9% of games won. He is the perfect interim manager waiting for a new season to begin, either with or without him sitting on the bench.
1. ROBERTO MANCINI
His last Inter spell was his only one without a trophy. That should tell you enough about Mancini’s winning mentality. He’s 51 but has already as much trophies as Hiddink and the 54.9% of games won in his career. West Ham have been linked with welcoming Mancio’s services, should Slaven Bilic face sacking.
