    Tonelli ‘honored’ by Napoli interest

Empoli centre-back Lorenzo Tonelli will be one of the hottest commodities in Serie A in the upcoming transfer window with the 26-year-old defender heavily linked with a move to Napoli, where he would rejoin his former coach Maurizio Sarri.

The Italian defender talked about his future during an interview with Radio CRC.

“I am honoured by Napoli interest but I still know nothing about it”, Tonelli told Italian journalist Raffaele Auriemma.

“It means that I’ve been doing positive things but I am used not to think too ahead.”

“Napoli will need to build a competitive team for next year’s Champions League, that’s all they need to further improve and battle it out in the league as well. This year’s experience will be very usefull for them as well.”

“Juventus have a winning mentality and their extraordinary experience has helped them to win five successive Seir A titles. I believe that the next campaign will be very thrilling too, there will be many surprises and lot of title contenders, it’s not going to be a predictable league.”
