Three Arsenal targets set to extend Napoli deal
The Brazilian-born with Italian passport is ready to put pen to paper on a new deal worth almost € 2 million a year running until 2020.
Following his recent stunning performances, it is believed that the player’s price-tag is no less than € 25 million.
Dries Mertens is walking the same path as Jorginho. The Belgium International’s agent is in talks with Napoli over his client’s contract renewal.
The player has been previously linked with Arsenal but he wants to stay in Naples.
His current deal with the club expires in June 2018 and the player has requested a salary of € 2.5 million per year. The club allegedly turned down offers from Wolfsburg and Inter last summer, in turn they are expected to extend Mertens’ stay at the Stadio San Paolo, though the two sides have still not found economic agreement and Napoli want to add a release-clause in the deal.
Lorenzo Insigne’s contract extension is not considered a priority as his contract ends in 2019. Despite this, the club consider the 24-year-old striker as one of the team’s mainstays as well as cornerstone of the Partenopei’s future.
The player wants a one-year contract extension with a pay rise that would led the Naples-born striker to earn € 3 million a year.
The player’s agent has still not held official contract renewal talks with Napoli, but he is expected to meet the club before the end of the current Serie A campaign.
