REVEALED: who has the most expensive squad in European football
Its official, Manchester United has the most expensive squad in European football. In a survey carried out by CIES, the Red Devils topped the list of all the clubs in Europe’s five main football championships (Liga, Bundesliga, Premier League, Serie A & Ligue 1).
In the survey, only purchases are taken into consideration which does not include players who have arrived at their new clubs on free-transfers. So for this reason, Dani Alves to Juventus and Zlatan Ibrahimovic for example, have not been counted. Here’s the top 22:
