It’s a dream that seems to be becoming more of a reality with every passing day. After Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone stated that he would one day like to return to the peninsula to coach Inter, plus the fact that his son Giovanni also declared his father’s love for the nerazzurri, comes a wholly unexpected development.
 

The President of Atleti, Enrique Cerezo has told Spanish sports journal Mundo Deportivo that his Argentine coach will be heading to Serie A in the future. The patron explained that; “Yes it’s a possibility. He always stated that he wanted to coach here and he has done just that. He has a long contract with us however, so we are not concerned at this time”.   

Simeone has a current deal in the Spanish capital until 2018, a contract which was originally due to last until 2020 but was shortened by two-years on his request. There is also a buy-out clause on it that states that if another club offers €40 million compensation, they could in theory, take him immediately. Inter continues to dream but the reality is that Cholo’s return to the nerazzurri is anything but far away.
