Serie A: the stadiums have never been this empty; details
There’s been a big drop in supporters attending Serie A games for the opening two weekends of the new campaign, with an 8% drop in respect of the last 10 seasons. There have also been negative results on stadium capacities with an average of only 51% of tickets sold, the worst since the 2013-14 season.
SPECTATORS AT A MINIMUM:
The survey carried out by DynamiTick also shows that total Serie A attendances for the opening two games totalled 426, 388; the lowest recorded in the last ten years and a drop of 5% on last season and 9% on 2014-15. The gap is even more concerning when you compare to 2008-09 (-12%), 2009-2010 (-17%) and 2010-2011 (-11%).
STADIUMS NEVER THIS EMPTY:
The percentages of the respective stadium capacities are also at their lowest in ten years; the 51% is the same as 2013-14 and is a drop of 2% on last season and 4% on 2014-15. Unsold tickets are also a cause for major concern with a total of 405,549 still being available after the opening two rounds of action, which equates to 49%. This again, is equal to the lowest for the past 10 years and the same as in 2013-14.
